Our beliefs
1. The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, our final guide for faith, life, and mission (2 Tim 3:16–17; 2 Pet 1:20–21).
2. The Triune God
We believe in one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in glory and united in purpose (Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19).
3. Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory (John 1:1–14; 1 Cor 15:3–4; Act 1:9–11).
4. Salvation
We believe all people need salvation, given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Rom 3:23; Eph 2:8–9). Through His death and resurrection we receive forgiveness, new life, and adoption into God’s family.
5. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit gives new life, indwells, empowers, guides, and gifts believers for holy living and fruitful ministry (John 14:26; Act 1:8).
6. The Church
We believe the global Church is all believers united in Christ and sent to worship, serve, and make disciples among all nations (Matt 28:18–20; Eph 4:4–6).
DHM Distinctives
7. Unity in the Body of Christ
We highly value unity among believers. We partner joyfully with a wide variety of denominations, churches, and ministries who affirm the essentials of the gospel (John 17:20–23). We believe the kingdom of God is bigger than any one organization or tradition.
8. Humility in Ministry
We do not claim to have all the answers. We recognize that God works through many cultures, methods, traditions, and movements to advance His kingdom (1 Corinthians 12:4–7). We hold our strategies with humility and our commitment to Christ with conviction.
9. Posture of Learning and Feedback
We value a culture of feedback, reflection, and lifelong learning. We actively seek to grow in wisdom, character, and effectiveness (Proverbs 9:9; Philippians 1:9–10).
10. Cultural Flexibility and Contextualization
We believe the gospel is unchanging, but the way we communicate and apply it should be shaped by culture, demographic, and context (1 Corinthians 9:19–23). We aim to be flexible, adaptable, and sensitive to the people we serve.
11. Technology for the Kingdom
We recognize technology as a powerful tool that can be used for good or harm. We commit to staying current, discerning, and innovative in order to use technology for the advancement of the gospel (Matthew 5:16; Colossians 3:17).
12. Disciple-Making and Multiplication
We are dedicated to making disciples who obey Jesus and who, in turn, make more disciples (Matthew 28:18–20; 2 Timothy 2:2). We pursue simple, reproducible, healthy, and Spirit-led practices that enable movements of disciples and churches.
Summary
DHM holds firmly to the essentials of the Christian faith while embracing unity, humility, learning, cultural wisdom, technological discernment, and a commitment to multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ.
